Audio leaves our studio as a single mixed feed. From there it is encoded — compressed into a format small enough to travel over ordinary internet connections without noticeable loss for most listeners.

That encoded stream is handed to a distribution network that copies it to servers around the country, so the version reaching your phone is usually coming from somewhere relatively close to you.

This is why buffering is almost always a network issue rather than a station outage. If audio stalls, the stream is still running; your device is waiting on data.

Our player is built to reconnect on its own. If it ever does not, pause and press play once — that forces a fresh connection to the nearest server.
